Why there is no letter grid

Tracing a word through a 15×15 block of letters is a slow, careful activity. It is pleasant, but it does not survive being turned into a two-player race: the searching takes minutes and the other player has nothing to do.

Replacing the letter block with a scatter of whole words changes the tempo completely. A search takes seconds, not minutes, which means the roles can flip constantly and both players are always doing something. The pressure comes from the other person, not from the puzzle.

Three ways to play

  • Play vs Bot — the bot takes time to choose, time to search and fills its grid at a human pace. Easy, Medium or Hard.
  • Play with a Friend — create a private room and send the link to one person.
  • Two on this device — both seats in one browser, for trying a format out.

Making it harder or easier

Four settings change the whole feel of a match. A 30 item pool on a4×4 grid over one round is quick and forgiving — good for a first game with someone who has never played. A 50 item pool on a4×8 grid over a best of 5 turns every search into real work and every fill window into a scramble.

The choose timer is the last dial. Fifteen seconds forces instinctive picks; sixty seconds lets a chooser study the board for the sneakiest item on it.

How to play

Choose → Find → Fill → Switch → Repeat. Fill your grid to take the round; win the rounds to take the match.

  1. Choose

    On your turn, pick any item from the scattered pool — a word, a number or a letter. You have 30 seconds.

  2. Find

    Your opponent has to spot that exact item among all the others and tap it.

  3. Fill

    While they search, you tap cells on your own grid. Every tap fills one X.

  4. Switch

    The moment they find it, your fill window closes and the roles swap.

Common questions

Does it work on a phone?
The game was designed for phones first. Words are laid out as large tappable pills, the play field scrolls when it needs to, and every control clears the 44 pixel minimum touch target.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It is a web page. It loads in a browser tab on any modern phone, tablet or computer.
Can I play by myself?
Yes — the bot follows the same rules a human does: it takes time to choose, takes time to find, and fills its own grid while you search.
